Abstract
Most of the Spanish-speaking migrant children have encountered difficulty with the academic basic skills. Therefore, an increasing attention must be given to developing a program with instructional, supportive, and aspirational aspects. Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) is one of the growing number of instructional techniques which assists teachers with instruction. CAI has been used in many school districts in the country and has been found to be effective in teaching subject areas such as reading, language arts and reading. CAI can become a meaningful instructional technique. The proper use of CAI may lead to changes in the classroom teaching as the possible applications of the computer technology are more completely realized. CAI can be effective only if it is used with a clear purpose in mind.
