Abstract
The goal of this research was to determine the factors which effect the usage of collegiate Websites by high school counselors and their students. In setting up Website, college admission staffs face the daunting task of creating an attractive site while leading prospective students through the informational maze with the least resistance. The growing access to the World Wide Web in homes creates one natural access point for students. However, school counselors are frequently the gatekeepers through which students learn how-to use the career and collegiate tools at their command. To gather the information, a questionnaire was mailed to a random sampling of high school counselors in the state of Ohio. The questionnaire was aimed primarily at obtaining descriptive data from the schools. The data were then categorized and put into usable form for this report.
