Abstract
The design and implementation of a cablevision delivered course on Grand Opera is described. The unique aspect of this project is that both the viewers and the production teams experienced active learning situations. Various feedback mechanisms (e.g., quiz questions) are used to involve viewers. The production teams were mainly made up of students at William Paterson College who had the opportunity to participate in a real production as part of their training. The term “exponential teaching” is coined to describe this phenomenon of constructing an educational delivery system which is in itself another learning experience for a different group of students.
