Much has been said about what affects the scholastic performance of a child, but little has been done to analytically model it Data from 130 Long Island, N.Y., school districts are analyzed to determine if and how educational progress can be predicted. Both social and economic indices are used in developing a multi-response system to forecast student achievement. The sub-systems under consideration are the elementary, junior and senior high schools.
