Abstract
The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo are a group of women whose children disappeared during the Argentinian dictatorship. Their case has become internationally known, and the association has several times been put forward as candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. Several films have been made on specific cases of disappearances, and the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo have become a symbol of the enormous suffering under a repressive regime. The Journal is pleased to offer a forum for the expression of their protest. The Journal invited the Vatican to reply, but the invitation was declined.
