Abstract
The use of microcomputers in education is growing at a phenomenal rate. Major “micro” manufacturers have sold thousands of units to school systems. Because of the rapid growth of this medium, it is extremely important that educational technologists and teachers of exceptional children be keenly aware of the effective use of this new technology. In this article selection criteria as well as specific classroom applications with handicapped students are examined. Advantages and limitations of microcomputer use with various handicapping conditions are discussed.
