In the course of working on a products liability accident case, the question was raised, what is a consumer's reasonable expectation regarding a popularly advertised product's quality and safety? In a first attempt to answer this question, the research literature dealing with the behavioral effects of televised advertising was reviewed. This paper presents the results of this review.
