Abstract
New generation, small-, medium-, and large-pore metal-incorporated aluminophosphate (MeAPO) molecular sieves were investigated with the use of Fourier transform (FT) Raman spectroscopy. The Raman spectra of well-characterized, high-purity MeAPO molecular sieves such as AlPO-5, NiAPO-5, MAPO-11, SAPO-34, MAPO-36, MAPO-39, MAPO-43, SAPO-44, MAPO-46, and MAPO-50 have been obtained in the 150 3250 cm−1 region. The presence of different metals in the AlPO framework within a particular structure has also been studied by FT-Raman spectroscopy. Comparison of FT-Raman and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra of the samples indicated that the structures of the MeAPOs are more easily distinguished by FT-Raman than by FT-IR spectroscopy and that the former can be used for identifying and characterizing these materials.
