IR spectra are given for 1-deoxy-1-glycino-D-fructose as an anion, cation, zwitterion, and deuterated zwitterion. The major bands are assigned to the vibrations of molecular subgroups. The spectra show that the deoxyfructose residue is predominately in the β-D-pyranose form, although small fractions of other isomers may also be present. These results may be useful in the study of nonenzymatically glycosylated proteins.
