Abstract
The resolution enhancement technique of Fourier self-deconvolution is applied to vibrational circular dichroism spectroscopy. Spectra of (+)−3-methylcyclohexanone recorded at different resolutions are used to show how the technique enhances resolution without the production of artifacts. The spectrum of (+)-limonene is presented as an example of a severely congested spectrum which shows dramatic changes upon deconvolution. Application of the technique to difference spectroscopy in general appears to be a valuable method for retrieving information lost through band overlap.
