Abstract
The implementation of routine analyses on a two-meter direct reading emission spectrometer has been facilitated by a specially designed system. A digital readout console controls the element selection in the spectrometer and generates punched data cards containing the spectral information. A computer calculates concentrations in weight percent or parts per million for a maximum of 24 elements in a number of different matrices. The results are printed along with pertinent comments and footnotes onto a report. The readout system has been in daily operation for two years with excellent results.
