An earlier investigation of the properties of ion-sensitive plates has been extended to include additional types of spectrographic emulsions and to obtain more extensive data on the widely used Ilford Type Q2 emulsion. Log-probability response plots are used to compare the different emulsions and emulsion batches. The effects of variations in exposure and processing conditions on the Type Q2 plates have been investigated. These effects are correlated, where possible, with the coating analyses and microstructuro of the plate emulsion.
