Abstract
The application of infrared spectroscopy to various problems in the biological field is illustrated by considering its use in the structural determination of proteins and a clinical situation. Sampling problems with biological materials are discussed With the advent of the far-infrared spectrophotometer the study of biological materials in the far-infrared region is now possible Typical results with various material such as tissue and macromolecular components of the tissues are shown.
