An electronic system has been designed with which it is possible to make dynamic background corrections by modifying existing commercial direct-reading equipment. The resulting linear curves make practical the use of simple electronic analog computation equipment to automatically calculate analytical values The design and use of a versatile computer to carry out this function is described Its application to the spectrochemical analysis of clamshells for Ba, Mn, Na, and Sr is presented.
