Abstract
An apparatus for using the vaporization-concentration method of separation of impurities for spectrochemical analysis of refractory materials is described The unit is portable and can be used with controlled atmospheres at either positive or negative pressures. A temperature of over 2300°C can be attained in less than one minute. Temperature is read with a disappearing filament optical pyrometer and is controlled by variations of the input voltages by means of two autotransformers Several other possible applications of the unit are also suggested.
