Abstract
A spectrographic technique for the determination of beryllium in atmospheric dust has been developed. Both a permanently installed low volume air sampler and a portable high volume sampler are employed for obtaining the air-borne dust samples. Solutions of the filtering media are used for spectrographic analyses, by a solution-spark technique using a rotating disk electrode The method is sensitive to 0 05 micrograms of beryllium per cubic meter of air, with a coefficient of variation of less than 11% in the 0 5 to 2 microgram range.
