“Electric Field Effects on the Reflectance Spectra of Particles Smaller Than the Wavelength of Light” by Heather Brooke, B. V. Bronk, J. N. McCutcheon, S. L. Morgan, and M. L. Myrick, Applied Spectroscopy, 63(11), p. 1293–1302. Figure 3B in the original publication was a duplicate of Figure 3A. The corrected Figure 3 is below.

This plot of absorbance vs. particle coverage shows that the data is approximately fit by the sin² function given in Equation 3, for each wavelength shown (using a real refractive index of 1.29), with χ² values of 0.0016 and 0.0002. Error bars represent the 95% confidence interval for 9 degrees of freedom. Imaginary indexes calculated from the first experimental plateau in the data compare well with Refs. 27 and 28 as described in the text.
