The book is a new edition. It is the latest addition to the series of Laboratory Animal Pocket References. It is extremely easy to read, very comprehensible, at a technical level. Illustrations are all in black and white, and are a little dark in appearance depicting a low quality print however they do provide excellent graphic information. The images are not all centered in the frames. References are complete and up to date. The book is comparable to others in the series and provides a very good technical reference for those in the field. The index is thorough, allowing quick access to information.
The strengths of the book are good basic technical information on all aspect of canine husbandry and care. The section of common diseases is not very detailed for an audience with an advanced scientific degree. The book is very well suited for its intended technical audience.
