We were very pleased with the publication in Veterinary Pathology of the paper “The 2000 Canine Distemper Epidemic in Caspian Seals (Phoca Caspica): Pathology and Analysis of Contributory Factors” 1 but are now upset by the realization that we had not contacted Dr. Karen Register regarding inclusion and updating of the ribotype categorization that she had provided for Bordetella bronchiseptica isolates from some of those seals. This was indeed due to unintended poor communication and was a most regrettable oversight on our part. We sincerely apologize to Dr. Register and also thank her for the correction with respect to ribotype.
