Abstract
Computers have become an integral tool for use by police officers in performing their daily duties. However, little has been done to incorporate training on the use of these important tools in basic police academies and in-service training. This article details the need for integration of computer training in curricula of police academies to improve computer literacy among police officers. Models for successful curriculum integration are discussed and recommendations are provided for reducing the barriers to computer related training.
