Abstract
There is rarely a day that passes when we do not see a news report about electronic health records (EHRs) and meaningful use. Of course, our professional home is in the health information technology (IT) sector, so our view may be somewhat biased. In this column, we offer a snapshot overview of EHR efforts from a national thought leader within the governmental office that is driving national health IT efforts.
