Abstract
The Director's Forum is designed to guide pharmacy leaders in establishing patient-centered services in hospitals and health systems. Developing an effective pipeline of leadership is essential for the future of the profession of pharmacy. Historically, considerable attention has been placed upon succession planning in the hospital pharmacy environment. The profession, however, not only needs succession planning in other practices areas, but also formal, structured training programs. The future of the profession will be dependent upon strong leadership in all areas. The intent of this article is to outline how a traditional pharmacy leadership training program can be integrated into a nontraditional environment to achieve similar product outcomes.
