Abstract
We are witnessing a convergence of forces that are driving a shift in the US health care system. We have finally recognized the importance to our patients' health of what occurs outside of our health care institutions. Communication with and inclusion of the patient is a new frontier in mobilizing health care delivery. Tools for mobile providers also are receiving heightened attention. These and related topics are addressed in this installment.
