Last month we introduced a new, broader focus for our column—shifting from a primary focus on portable technology to a more global look at health care automation and technology as it affects institutional systems in general and pharmacies specifically. In that regard, this month's column addresses a broad need related to health care automation and technology, which many of our readers likely have experienced. Although we are not evaluating a specific technology, this topic encompasses all automation and technology used within a pharmacy.
