Abstract
The accuracy for the simplified and detailed models described in EN 12354, parts 1 and 2, was investigated for 31 building situations with mainly heavy separating and flanking elements. For the weighted apparent sound reduction index R'w the absolute mean deviation with standard deviation between the measured and the calculated results was found to be (2.0 ± 1.8) dB for the simplified model, (2.1 ± 1.8) dB for the detailed model, and (2.5 ± 1.8) dB for the detailed model with correction of structural reverberation time. Detailed correction of geometry is not of major influence on the final result for the simplified and the detailed model. The detailed editing of the coupling conditions compared with a situation with a maximum number of couplings does not improve the accuracy of the detailed model.
