Abstract
The Sound Reduction Index of 1.2 × 1.2 m windows composed of two identical pivoting leaves of three different thickness of laminated glass and inserted in two different frames (aluminium and PVC) had been measured using pressure and sound intensity techniques. The Sound Reduction Index has been also predicted. These results have allowed us to compare the relative importance of the frame acoustic isolation effectiveness against the glass pane effectiveness in order to achieve an overall window Sound Reduction Index.
