Abstract
After nearly 18 months of meetings and discussions, Working Group 1, charged by the European Commission to recommend physical indicators to describe noise from all outdoor sources for assessment, mapping, planning and control purposes, and also to propose methods of implementation, has produced its recommendations.1 These have been passed to the Commission for further action.
