Roads belonging to the national network go through the Mediterranean coastal towns. In this paper, a study carried out in Gandia, a coastal city located 65 km from Valencia, where the local authorities decided to build a by-pass road to reduce the volume of traffic, is presented. Traffic noise levels are measured before and after the by-pass road was built.
