Abstract
Squeal can be a major problem in the development of new automotive disc brake systems and increasing the knowledge of the parameters that generate squeal is important. The vibration motions of the brake components during squeal have been extensively studied using a variety of measurement techniques. This article describes the use of cutting-edge acoustic holography technology to measure the disc motion.
