Groundborne Vibration Caused by Mechanised Construction Works

Abstract

Recently published Report 429 from the Transport Research Laboratory¹ gives a useful review of current knowledge of ground vibration transmission and adds new information specific to construction works. The Report aims to present methods of predicting vibration levels from all mechanised construction activities, which may cause groundbome vibration to be environmentally intrusive, given a knowledge of the characteristics of the plant and site conditions.
