Abstract
An assessment was put forward to quantify the influence of random material properties' uncertainties on vibration analysis of the composite bicycle frame. Young's modulus, tensile yield strength and density of the composite material were modeled as independent random variables. The effect of material uncertainties on modal analysis and harmonic response analysis were evaluated using the finite element method. The results of this study showed that the vibration analysis, design and optimization of the bicycle frame should be considered with regard to the randomness in composite material properties.
