Abstract
This is an account of the delivery and installation of the Bangui Bay windfarm in the Philippines. This is noteworthy, not only as the Philippines' and South East Asia's first windfarm, but as one of the world's first onshore windfarms to be delivered from manufacture to site by sea, without using roads either for blade transportation at manufacture or for wind turbine component transportation at installation. This technique is favourable for large wind turbines, especially for heavy and/or long components such as blades, since transportation between dock and site by road may be difficult or impossible. Thus, the transportation techniques of offshore windfarms have major benefits for shoreline sites.
