Abstract
Horticultural warehouses with large and open floorspace requirements call for new typologies of steel structures. Faced with this problem, and after a comparison of various structural alternatives, a pseudo-folded sheet was adopted as a final design solution. A modulated spatial structure was designed for an agro-industrial warehouse in Valencia, Spain. Bending forces in the element's roof cover are transformed into axial stresses, thereby improving structural performance. A detailed analysis was performed in setting the geometric and structural behaviour of the different steel elements. Finally, we consider issues such as joint connectivity, global stability, and the erection process.
