The safety committee of the British Medical Ultrasound Society has drawn up guidance that is intended to encourage best practice in determining and reporting the exposure conditions used in ultrasound bio-effect studies among researchers. The guidance addresses diagnostic and therapeutic applications of ultrasound, and is intended for bio-effects researchers, review boards of ethical and funding committees, and the editors and reviewers of scientific journals.
