Sexual inequalities exist in most societies.1 Women are discriminated against in almost every sphere of life (i.e. in politics, inheritance, etc.)2 from childhood, especially in communities where there is a preference for the male child.2,3 Women have limited access to assets and services such as education and health care, resulting in their being socio-economically dependent on men.2
