Abstract
The inquest process has proved to be an important vehicle for the development of Article 2 European Convention Human Rights. The extent of the duties imposed on Member States to preserve each of their citizen's right to life is now clearer than it has ever been, although there is still a need for further clarification. The case law in this area continues to develop quickly. It is hoped that by sharing some of our case studies this will help lawyers and clinicians to keep abreast of the developments in the law.
