Abstract
A case is presented in which the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) was withheld for eight years from the patient. Apparently, the treating doctors decided that it was best for the patient not to know that he probably had MS. Court proceedings were commenced after the patient became aware of the diagnosis and the case was settled for £10,000.
