Abstract
Paediatric ophthalmology covers all eye problems in children up to the age of 16 years. Strabismus can occur at any age. This article discusses issues within these specialties that could or have resulted in litigation. The issues discussed are cerebral visual impairment, retinopathy of prematurity, postnatal and 6 week examination, non-accidental injury, papilloedema, squint, amblyopia, functional blindness, shunt blockage, sinus surgery and orbital blow out fracture.
