Abstract
13 newborn baboons were experimentally infected with a baboon-derived herpesvirus SA 8-strain. Intratracheal infection produced herpetic tracheo-bronchopneumonia, intravenous inoculation resulted in adrenal necrosis similar to that in human neonatal herpes infection.
