Intestinal protozoa belonging to the genera Spironucleus (Hexamita), Giardia, Trichomonas and Entamoeba, carried by conventional hamsters, were successfully transmitted to and established in protozoa-free sucking or newly-weaned specified-pathogen-free inbred mice by exposure of the mice to hamster intestinal contents.
