Abstract
An attempt was made to establish whether human Entamoeba coli was transmissible from man to laboratory rodents. Cysts from 15 samples of human and 4 of primate stool were passaged into specified-pathogen-free guinea-pigs, rats and mice. In only 1 instance were cysts established in mice and, eventually, in rats.
