Abstract
Chemical and electrophoretic studies of serum obtained from rats bearing tumours induced by murine sarcoma virus (Moloney) revealed a substantial drop in γ-globulin level and, to a lesser degree, in the albumin level. The α-1 and α-2 globulin fraction levels rose sharply. Also elevated were serum total fatty acids, serum cholesterol levels, lipoprotein (almost entirely associated with the β-lipoprotein and chylomicrons fractions) and the serum glutamic oxalacetic transaminase level.
