Abstract
Because of its relatively large hind-limb bulk, the Australian scrub wallaby is a useful substitute for man in blood-flow experimentation.
Capture of these wallabies by a simple rope snare, and subsequent housing, caging and feeding are described. Anaesthesia is induced with pentobarbitone sodium and continued with nitrous oxide-oxygen-halothane mixture.
