The basic elements of a computer simulation model for a diesel fuel injection system based on a distributor-type rotary pump are summarized followed by details of the experimental set-up used to validate it. The results of parametric studies performed with the validated model on the effect of various geometric parameters on the injection characteristics are presented and discussed.
