It is shown that the dissipation characteristic of a centrifugal pump can be obtained from the normal characteristic of the same pump. Using the dissipation characteristic of the weaker of two pumps coupled in parallel and the normal characteristic of the larger of the two pumps, an expression for the combined characteristics of the pumps is then obtained. Graphical results are presented for two sets of pumps.
