Abstract
The integration of a laser Doppler vibrometer with computer controlled scanning mirrors provides a versatile system for vibration measurement. Such an instrument has been developed at Rolls-Royce, with the objective of using it for vibration measurement in both the laboratory and in a hostile environment such as an engine test cell. This paper describes this system together with a number of examples of its application to vibration testing in aero-engine development.
