Abstract
This paper deals with energy-saving radiation heating realized by hanging radiation panels. In comparison with the classical convection heating the use of radiation panels limits heat losses by ventilation and significantly saves energy. To express the relationships between the radiation heat flux to the heated space and the basic radiation sheet geometry, a simple mathematical model is proposed and analysed using the small parameter method. To verify the accuracy of the solution the governing equation was also solved numerically and laboratory experiments were conducted. The experimental results agree very well with the analytical solution. For panel design, recommendations are made.
