Abstract
The development of validation criteria for the dynamic conception of complex structures has resulted increasingly in the use of iterative intensive analysis procedures, the cost of which can be restrictive in terms of calculation times when using the established direct analysis methods. Modal synthesis, as outlined in the following article, has proved itself to be very effective as a method of reanalysis, particularly related to the dynamic behaviour of railway vehicle structures.
