A new technique for the computer simulation of thermal regenerators is presented. The method is both closed and allows for the spatial representation of the temperature dependence of the thermophysical properties of fluid and solid which strongly influence the realistic modelling of high-temperature regenerators. It is shown that the method is computationally more efficient than a comparable open scheme.
