Abstract
The influence of flow and geometric boundary conditions on the interaction of opposed rows of jets in a confined duct without cross-flow has been investigated by a flow visualization method. The effects of angular and axial misalignment of jets and of unequal mean jet velocities were found to be much greater than in configurations with cross-flow, and the effects of geometric asymmetries were more important than those of modest differences in mean jet velocities.
